Social service agencies, churches, and other organizations on the front line of serving those in need make the referrals to the Emergency Food Pantry. Families or individuals who live in Cass or Clay county may receive stop-gap assistance to help them until other organizations are able to assist, or until the crisis is overcome. The Emergency Food Pantry serves people without regard to age, color, creed, race or income.
To Receive A Referral
To receive a referral if you currently have SNAP benefits or a social worker, please contact your worker and request that he/she call in a food basket for you. If, however, you are in need of food immediately and do not receive benefits, you may contact one of the following agencies: Fargo residents contact South East North Dakota Community Action Agency (SENDCAA) at (701) 232-2452. Moorhead residents contact Lakes & Prairies at (218) 299-7314.
When You Are Referred to the Pantry
Individual households may be referred up to four times within a year period (starting from the date of the first referral). When you come in to request your food basket, please bring an ID (identification card) with you.
